Mtg at GL went well in spite of the cold. Thanks to Larry & the staff for hosting the event. Thanks also to Rob, Trish & Craig for judging the SOM comp. My winning entry will be at Garys for the next mtg. All 3 entries were very good. March SOM will be Irish Red. Any early entries.
Our Next mtg will be Feb 26th at Garys. Same as last time. We will promo the club and serve beer under the Pavillion. At this time we will have Big Brew Day Brown, TAFBD Saison, Wit, and Bernies Eng Porter. Please RSVP if you plan to attend. This will be the last time the club will buy beer for all members who RSVP. No RSVP, no "free: bar beer.

27th-Mead Day at my house. Will make 20 gal of traditional mead. Club keeps 5 for club events. # MIGs can each take home 5 gal for the cost of the honey. More details later
NOLA trip- we have 23 interesteds. so far. Interested does not mean you are obligated. It means you will get first dibs on a seat on the. If we can make the trip June 11& 12.

A big thanks to Karen & Steve. Very nice get-together. Good food & good drink was enjoyed by all in attendance. Mixed reviews on French Toast Mead. Thanks to all who brought AB to share. Next winos mtg will be at Wine World on March 5th.
Our next mtg will be at Goat Lips this coming Sun. They have a TV if you want to watch the Super Bowl. Club will buy pitchers of GL beer and muffulettas for feasting. SOM is Belgian Wit. Paul & I have entries. Anybody else?? Please RSVP ASAP if you plan to attend.

Brewing Irish Red Friday starting about 11. Ryan is making a how to brew video for club web site & facebook. Have root beer for early & a variety of brews for sampling. Will order pizza when brew is done.
Have 17 folks who may be interested in NOLA trip. I can only proceed with it if we get a lot more responses. If we have to, we can open it to the public next month.Please let me knowif you have even a slight interest.

27th-mead making at my place. we will make 20 gals. 3 members will get to take home 4-5 gallons to
ferment. Cost for honey is $30 per person. You must agree to bring samples of your mead to
future mtgs. Club has enough honey to do it again later. You must bring your own fermenter.
Those who did not get honey from Neil, get first dibs. Questions? Let me know if you want in.
You also have to help make it, be on time and help clean up.
If you plan to attend the event at Garys this Sat, please let me know ASAP. In addition to the Saison made on Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day and the Brown Ale made on Big Brew Day, we will serve Braggot and Bernie's, English Porter. I also have mead & wine for sampling. Again, the purpose of the meeting is to promote our club, our Beer Fest, and homebrewing. Instead of food, the club will buy a beer from the bar for all who RSVP. Those who do not RSVP will not be added to the list. We will serve from 2-5 maybe 6.
If you have even a slight interest in the June 11-12 NOLA trip, let me know. Those from EBH and HBU who respond will get first shot at a seat on the bus if it is reasonably safe to do the trip. Need at least 50 interesteds to proceed with plans.
Brewing Irish Red this Sunday the 30th if anyone interested in coming over. Start time depends on the weather.
Need folks to host winos mtgs for May, June, July, Aug, Oct & Nov. Please let me know ASAP. Also, we need an outdoor place for GM & BG mtgs for Feb. March is covered. Hopefully we can return to mtg at local breweries in April.

Thanks to Terra & Tim for hosting the meeting yesterday. The chili was great and the weather was good until it got dark. The Brown Ale, Honey lime Wheat, and Paul's Citra IPA went well. My ABA took the medal by default. It is good. Feb SOM will be Belgian Wit 24A. Any entries??
Our next event will be the make-up mtg at Gary's Brewery & Biergarten this Sat 2-4. We will meet on the pavillion & promote the club and serve beer & mead to those who attend. Please begin RSVP today. If anybody has a beer to share let me know. More details to follow.
At this time we have only 12 interested in the June 11 & 12 NOLA trip. If we cant get enough who might want to go, I will not proceed with plans.

We are in the earliest stages of renewing the NOLA trip in June. The date is June 11-12. This will be a go only if it is reasonably safe to do it. Cant put a cost yet, but it will be a few bucks more than last time. Anyone from EBH or HBU who is interested, let me know now. This is not a commitment, just a survey to see if there are enough folks interested to proceed with plans.
Due to the weather, we will reschedule the meeting at Gary's on Jan. 29th.
